What we collect, why, and how long we keep it. We collect as little as the work allows.
Who is responsible
Blue Frontier Studio (sole proprietor), PO Box 2723, Faerie Glen, 0043, South Africa.
Questions or requests: through the contact form, or by post.
What we collect, and why
Through the contact form: your name, work email, company, the service you chose, your message, and your browser's time zone (so we can suggest call times). We use them only to reply to you and to arrange the work you ask about.
Giving them is your choice, but we cannot reply without a name and an email address.
This website uses no analytics and no tracking cookies. The spam check on the form (Cloudflare Turnstile) only tells people from bots.
Your databases
Most of our checks read how a database is set up and how it runs, never what is in your tables. Health checks and the monthly support checks use read-only logins that cannot see table data.
Three services involve your data. A move copies your data and compares every value. A restore test puts your backup, data included, on a separate server you provide, and counts the rows. A performance review reads your SQL statements, which can contain values.
For those, we agree access at the start of the job, and any copy we hold is deleted at handover.
Where we use AI tools on a job, they run on a business API key used only for that job, under terms that exclude training on what we send.
Who else sees it
Our email provider (Zoho Mail), the service that delivers form messages to us (Resend), our website host (Vercel) and the spam check (Cloudflare), only to do their part.
Some of them store data outside South Africa and outside your country.
We do not sell or share your details with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Messages and proposals: 3 years.
Invoices: as long as tax law requires.
Copies of your data used for a job: deleted at handover.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted where we are not required to keep it, and object to how we use it.
You can complain to South Africa's Information Regulator (inforeg.org.za). If you are in the UK or the EU, you can also complain to your own data protection authority.
