PostgreSQL support for teams without a full-time DBA.
Settings tuned to your load, backups that have been test-restored, and a monthly report on bloat, transaction ID age and slow queries. For PostgreSQL you already run, or the database we migrated for you.
Restore test: row counts matchRow counts and checksums per table
Settings tuned to your load
Monthly health report sent
Tuning report
Settings measured against your load
We measure how your database is used, then suggest memory, connection, checkpoint and autovacuum settings to match.
What you get
A week of load measured through pg_monitor, which cannot read table data
Exact setting changes, each with its reason
A second measurement after your team applies the changes
Good to know
Included with every move from Oracle
Also available on its own, for any PostgreSQL database
Backups with a restore test
Backups, then a test restore
On-prem, we design a backup plan and hand it over as a document your team follows. On a cloud service we write down the provider's settings to use. Either way, we then restore a backup and check it.
On-prem
A weekly full backup, a smaller nightly one, and continuous WAL archiving for point-in-time recovery
Encrypted, with a passphrase only you keep
A copy on object-lock storage, which nobody can change or delete until its retention period ends
A nightly schema-only dump, stored separately
A timed restore to a separate server, with row counts and row checksums per table
On a cloud service
Retention set to the point-in-time window you need
A copy in another account or region
A timed restore test, checked the same way
Monthly support
What monthly support covers
Included every month
A health report: transaction age, long open transactions, abandoned replication slots, sequences near their limit, bloat, slow queries
Alerts on the same checks, with thresholds set for you
A note when a new minor release (security and bug fixes) is out
Twice a year, a timed restore test
Your version's end of support tracked, with a reminder in good time

Questions
Before you ask
Can you read our data? Not for the checks: they use PostgreSQL's built-in monitoring role, which cannot read table data. For a restore test we do handle your data: it goes onto a separate server, where we count and checksum the rows.
Which PostgreSQL versions?Every version still supported by the PostgreSQL project. If yours is older, the first report says so and names the supported versions.
We are on RDS. Is this still useful?Yes. The provider runs the server; settings, slow queries, restore tests and the monthly check are still yours. We check them and tell your team what to change.
